From a macro survey of 13 acres of irregular settlement, stretching between Ghatkoper and Powai, the neighbourhood (unit 2) with the highest threat was selected for immediate micro- a survey.

Project
goal
Commissioned by the Municipal corporation of Greater Mumbai, the project aimed to create an action plan for providing basic infrastructure for water, public spaces, sanitation, and educational institutions in irregular settlements. By GIS mapping exiting infrastructure, we created a conditional analysis report for the MCGM to respond to essential neighborhood needs.

Based on this analysis a set of recommendations was given to the MCGM on priority areas and areas of intervention.

Learning from my mapping work with MESN, I created an App called Ward Wise Watch which would help citizens see the data we collected through the GIS surveys.
The app also allowed one to pay bills and see the latest civic news.
